Get the most out of your learning experience, whether you’re a first-time driver or looking to get behind the wheel again. As one of the more “senior” driving schools in East London, we work with experienced driving instructors committed to our learners getting the best possible driving lessons.
I learnt automatic with Josh and passed first time. He’s a calm and thorough instructor. I gained confidence with each lesson. When test day came I felt really well prepared.
Zamal was my instructor just passed today first time. Very calm instructor and helpful very easy to get along with and guaranteed to teach you what you need to pass.
When you want to learn how to drive, it’s best to give consideration to a lot more than pricing only.
Driving is a tremendous skill to have, one that is made up of many skills simultaneously. Understanding the importance of honing in on each skill, our driving school is dedicated to making driving lessons as effective as possible, allowing our learners to master each skill to the best of their ability.
We achieve a strong first-time pass rate through extensive learner-instructor engagement. Our learners look forward to each of their lessons, accelerating the pace of their learning. In turn, saving them money and allowing them to become the best drivers on the road.
The instructors who work with us are all ADI approved and consist of senior driving instructors in East London. Not only do we help people learn to drive, but we also help instructors become qualified and train further.

When you opt to take regular driving lessons with our school, you have the choice of manual or automatic transmission. While both have their individual benefits, it narrows down to personal preference. Either way, we have driving instructors of both transmissions readily available throughout East London.
If you’ve got this far, congratulations! It means you’ve successfully passed your driving test and are looking to further train & qualify yourself with the Pass Plus course. It consists of 6 additional modules, not required for your driving test, which will supplement your new driving skills. It also comes handy when taking out drivers insurance, especially for new drivers.
Neither expensive nor cheap, we’re priced just like any other driving school in East London. Rest assured, our lesson quality is of the highest.
Over the years and between all of our instructors, it’s fair to say driving and passing a test varies for each learner. However, if there’s one thing that remains consistent, it’s the effort 6S Driving School put towards helping every learner pass their driving test.
The fundamental rule of driving is knowing the rules and relevant actions at the right time. Which you will learn with your instructors over the course of your lessons.
Towards the latter part of your lessons your instructor will conduct mock tests, similarly to what you would experience on test day. The key observation points will be:
Spotting hazards early and avoiding them when possible
Controlling the car and make informed judgemental decisions
Having the attitude of a safe driver, complying with the Highway Code
While we don’t always guarantee a first-time pass, we do hold a strong percentage for it. The aim of our school is to produce safe drivers, which when done properly, results in first-time passes.
Things have changed in the world of driving, as of December 4th 2017, DVSA changed the way of driving tests. Undoubtedly, driving is a tremendous skill to have; while many can drive, not everyone is able to drive safely. That’s where the changes come into play and have been designed to test more realistic scenarios a new driver would face.
There are 4 core changes:
Independent Driving Increase
Independent driving is a segment of a driving test where the examiner will instruct the learner on where to go – now going to be 20 minutes. The learner will have to follow the guided routes, driving appropriately and safely at all times. Tip: You’re allowed to ask questions and going the wrong way does not result in failing, so don’t panic.
Sat Nav
As part of the independent driving, learners may be asked to follow directions from a sat nav. This will be set up by the examiner and learners are expected to follow. Tip: Again, you’re allowed to ask questions for confirmations and you will not fail for wrong turns. So long as you’ve not caused a hazard or fault.
Reverse Manoeuvres
Previously there were 2 reverse manoeuvres, “around the corner” and “turn-in-the-road”, both of which will no longer be instructed by the examiner. Instead, learners may be asked to perform a parallel park on the side of a road, pull up on the right-side of the road then reverse then rejoin the traffic or bay park accordingly.
Safety Question While Driving
Previously the examiner would have asked ‘Show me, Tell me’ questions before learners driving off. The new change results in the examiner asking these 2 questions while the learner is driving. Tip: You can find resources on the questions to expect online or ask your instructor to help you out.
These changes have come about for one reason only; assessing the safe driving capabilities of learners. The ethos our driving instructors carry are helping their students become safe drivers fast. We’ve risen to the challenge for a very long time and continue to improve our performance when delivering lessons.
6S Driving School is one of many in East London, however, we’re one of the few who take genuine measures to ensure quality lessons are delivered to bring optimum effectiveness. What do we mean by that? We strive strongly to help our learners pass their driving tests first-time.
Some of our senior driving instructors have been teaching for over 15 years and take pride in having taught other driving instructors to become ADI approved. It’s fair to say we know a thing or two when it comes to driving and can offset our years of experience to our learners. That’s the very reason we can also boast our high first-time pass rate.
Whatever your driving requirement is, we can help you. Whether that’s standard driving lessons or intensive. If you’ve passed already and want to take a pass plus course or just refresher lessons. Alternatively, if you want to become an instructor, rest assured we’ve helped many some of whom teach at our school.
The areas we deliver driving lessons in are far and wide. We cover all areas within the London boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Dagenham & Redbridge and Newham. We have a directory of all areas we cover which you can view.
Did you know we don’t just teach new learners only? We also help instructors become approved driving instructors (ADI).
There are plenty of perks that come with becoming a driving instructor, such as choice of work hours, flexible income, self-accountability and more. So if you’re considering becoming an instructor, we welcome conversations to see if it’s the right career choice for you.
We have dedicated information outlining the requirements to become ADI qualified on our ADI Training page.
As committed as we are to helping learners learn to drive, we have the same commitments to helping instructors become qualified.
