Why Go Intensive

The fastest route to your licence

An intensive course covers exactly the same ground as weekly lessons — it just keeps the momentum going, so you reach test standard sooner.

Pass in weeks, not months

Condensing your lessons means reaching test standard far sooner — ideal if you need a licence for a new job, university or a move.

Less forgetting between lessons

With lessons days rather than a week apart, skills stick. Less time is spent recapping, and more is spent progressing.

Real momentum and confidence

Driving most days builds familiarity fast, so manoeuvres and busy junctions start to feel natural rather than daunting.

One focused plan

A structured course built around your starting point and goals, with a clear route from first lesson to test day.

FAQs

Intensive driving lessons — FAQs

What is an intensive driving course?

An intensive (or crash) course condenses your lessons into a much shorter period — typically several hours a day over one to a few weeks, rather than one or two hours a week over months. You cover the same syllabus to the same standard; you just get there faster, with far less time between lessons to forget what you've learned.

How many hours of intensive lessons will I need?

Our courses run from 10 to 45 hours. Complete beginners usually need the longer courses, while learners with previous lessons or plenty of private practice can often go for a shorter one. We'll ask about your experience — and can book an assessment lesson — before recommending a course, so you don't pay for hours you don't need.

Is the driving test included in an intensive course?

We can plan your course around a test date you've already booked, or help you look for a suitable test slot. DVSA test availability varies and isn't something any driving school can guarantee, so we'll always be upfront about realistic timings before you commit.

Can I take an intensive course in a manual or an automatic?

Both. Intensive courses are available in our dual-control manual and automatic cars. Automatic courses often need fewer hours because there's no clutch or gears to master, but an automatic pass restricts you to automatic cars only.

Are intensive courses suitable for nervous drivers?

They can be, but not for everyone. Long daily sessions suit learners who pick things up quickly and want momentum. If you're very anxious behind the wheel, a semi-intensive course — shorter sessions spread over a few weeks — is often the better fit. Your instructor will build in breaks and adjust the pace either way.

How much does an intensive driving course cost?

Intensive prices are tailored to the number of hours, your car type and your test arrangements, so we quote each course individually. As a guide, standard lessons start from £40/hour automatic and £40/hour manual — get in touch for an exact quote.
