Of the schemes Ealing tried, only two remain: Adrienne Avenue, and Deans Road and Montague Avenue. The rest, including Mattock Lane and West Ealing North, were taken out, so streets that were once blocked are open again.
The Uxbridge Road runs through the heart of Ealing, busy with buses and shoppers around the Broadway, while the residential avenues around Ealing Common are calmer and good for building control.
Greenford test centre is close by, with Isleworth as the alternative. Students, commuters and families all learn here, in manual or automatic, at a pace that suits them.
