Learning to drive in Mile End
Cycleway 2 runs along Mile End Road on a separate track for most of its length, so cyclists are everywhere but kept out of your lane. The places to take care are the junctions and side roads where the track crosses, especially at busy times when commuters are heading in and out.
Mile End Road itself is wide and busy, with buses, bus stops and pedestrians crossing near the station and the university. It's a good road for learning to read what's happening several vehicles ahead rather than just the car in front.
If you're a student at Queen Mary and want to learn before you graduate, we can fit lessons around lectures, and intensive courses are an option if you'd rather learn over the holidays. Not a student? Commuters, parents and nervous beginners are just as welcome, in manual or automatic.
